Practice Policy
Practice Attendance Policy
The Lionfish compete in a Sumer recreational league as a result swimmers do not have a minimum practice attendance requirement; although, it is strongly recommended that swimmers participate in all scheduled practices for their group. As coaches, we understand that school, family commitments, and other activities are important roles in the development of our young athletes, we do ask that any missed practice/meet is communicated as much as possible with your lead coach.
Swimmers and Practice Groups
Swimmers are permitted to practice during their designated practice times. Swimmers will be unable to attend a separate practice schedule unless having prior approval from the coaching staff. This allows us to prioritze learning while also keeping safety and appropiate swimmers numbers a priority.
Practice Arrival Time
It is a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes before practice. This ensures your swimmer has plenty of time to get their equipment set up before practice begins. Our listed practice times are the time we dive into the water, not arrival times. Please have your swimmer at the pool and ready to dive in at the appropriate time. The coaching staff will be at the pool 15 minutes prior to the first practice time if you are needing to drop your swimmers off. Swimmers should not be dropped off any earlier without first talking to a coach.
During the Month of May the Lodge pool will be closed during the weekdays and only open for Summer Swim practices and Swim Club specific lesson programming. Once a swimmer completes their practice they should leave the facility with an adult.
During the Month of June the pool may be open during practice times. In coordination with the Swim Clubs Rules, swimmers will still need an adult present for pick up or to stay at the swim club after practice times.
Swim Meet Attendance
Swimmers are encouraged to enter all eligible events/meets they qualify for each season. Swimmers must “declare” their intention to participate in each meet by the posted deadline for each meet.
