Parents - Thank you again for coming out last night for our Practice Meet. It was great seeing so many Lionfish swimmers on deck and racing! Here are a few notes for this and upcoming weeks:

Lionfish Pride 

I know meets can be late and we all have busy schedules … but part of the Summer Swim experience is watching races, hanging out with friends and finding out the score. Year 2 we are more competitive in all age groups and expect some wins. Stick around cheer on other swimmers and make sure all of our swimmers have a great experience from the first event through the last!

Results from Practice Meet:

We will hand-enter results from the meet today to have them ready by tomorrow morning on the Swimtopia app. Future meets will utilize our Dolphin Timing system, which imports directly into Swim-Topia during the meet.

Future Meet Sign-Ups

We will close all meet sign-ups 72 hours out of the meet. This allows the staff to organize events and coordinate with the other team on events and lineups. Please sign up for the meets you know you can attend. This helps us think ahead on events.

Volunteering

Thank you for helping out at the meeting. As many of you know, it takes a village to get these meetings up and running, especially for home meetings. We will follow up with some feedback and needs for the next meeting.

Practice for Friday

We will have some combined practices with the Adult Party starting at 7:00 pm ...

All 6 and Unders 4:30 - 5:00 pm.

All 7-8 Year Olds 5:00 - 5:30 pm.

All 9-10 Year Olds 5:30 - 6:15 pm.

11 + Swimmers 6:15 - 7:00 pm.

Meet Day AM Practices

We will have some meet Day AM practices to get some extra work in before the meet. Dohnuts are on the coaches for those who attend.

11 + Swimmers 7:00 - 8:00 am

7-10 Swimmers 8:00 - 9:00 am

GroupMe

While the community aspect has been great on GroupMe a few notes moving forward, with incoming and logistics needing to be communicated, we are going to use GroupMe as a one-way outward communication tool. This includes:

• Info from Coaches
• Info from Volunteer Coordinator
• Info for meet updates/needs.
• Practice/Weather-related information.

We keep a lost-and-found at the pool. If you don't find your item, please reach out directly. We can send a blast for all items lost/misplaced at once.

Parking for Meets

Please do not leave any items in your car for home or away meets. Unfortunately, vehicles can be targeted for theft due to the large size of the meets and timeline. We are working on having someone present for our home meets but let's be proactive on our end as well.

Meet Entries

A reminder that for meets, every swimmer gets to swim Freestyle and Free Realy (based on swimmer numbers and availability). Back, Breast, Fly, and IM are limited based on host pool, competing team size, and other factors. Swimmers who are only legal in strokes will compete in an event.

Practice Attendance

Let us help set our swimmers up for success. We need to see your swimmers daily for Practice. Starts, Finishes, Strokes, Turns, and Relays are just a few things we must review for each meeting. With meets happening during the week, we are already limited in the time we have left for Practice.
